Every two years the grappling community has the great pleasure of the Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Grappling Championships. We get to see the best male and female sub grapplers on the planet reunite in one location to compete against one another to see who is the best at every weight class, all thanks to the generosity of the United Arab Emirates’ Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

This weekend marks the 2009 installment of this prestigious event, and yesterday we got to watch matches we have only dreamed about. Later today the second half of the event will wrap up, so we will discuss some of the details of yesterday’s action in today’s episode of The FightWorks Podcast.

We will also return to the topic of womens Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The second half of last week’s conversation with Emily Kwok, Val Worthington, and Felicia Oh, and we also will include a pair of audio messages we received on The FightWorks Podcast telephone line (877-247-4662).
