#95 The Blackbelt Training Network of BJJ

black belt training network bjj

Does it sometimes feel like Brazilian jiu-jitsu is being tugged in different directions by those with an interest in how it develops? Various stakeholders from different lineages of BJJ, to tournament promoters, to marketers all have an idea of what the sport should be, and it is not always the same thing.

This week on The FightWorks Podcast we will speak with Anthony Delvalle, who is heading an effort to bring together the true caretakers of the sport, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts, together in an open forum to train together, to discuss the future of the martial art, and to forge relationships which go beyond the commercial influences which in worst-case scenarios may undermine the integrity of the sport.

This endeavor is called the Black Belt Training Network, and Delvalle will tell us all about its goals, how the first meeting went, and how he foresees the association in the future.

  1. I support the black belt network. The collaboration amongst the black belts will help evolve the individual game, as well as bring their knowledge back to their schools to improve all students there, from children to up-and-coming adults. I look forward to possibly hosting a future meeting of black belts at Out of the Box Jiu Jitsu and MMA in Redlands, California. Thanks to Anthony Del Valle for being an innovator in the sport.

  2. I AM ANTHONY DELVALLE’S SISTER AND THIS IS MY FIRST TIME TUNNING INTO THIS WEBSITE. I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS BLACK BELT JIU JITSU AND HEARRING FROM MY BROTHER. PLEASE RESPOND SOON. THANK YOU. SINCERELY, MARY TOLER
