This week on The FightWorks Podcast, Dan and Caleb grill Gumby on his trip to Portugal for the European BJJ Championships which took place in Lisbon on the weekend of January 27th. There’s probably no better analyst to relate the events than Gumby, who brings us right into the thick of the action in the black belt division, as well as discusses the action after the tournament off the mats.
Our feature interview is with 6 time world BJJ champion Saulo Ribeiro. Saulo will be opening the first-ever University of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in San Diego on February 10th with much fanfare, including the presence of Royler Gracie and Kid Peligro. Based on our conversation, the University will be unlike anyplace you’ve ever trained before, with a developed set of requirements in areas such as judo, yoga, Brazilian Portuguese, and of course, Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Not just anybody will be able to train at the University, however! Check out our interview with Saulo to hear his expectations about the requirements for attending the University of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
