Kyra Gracie is offering a ten day Brazilian jiu-jitsu training camp in Rio de Janeiro from February 24th to March 3rd, 2010. This is the first time Kyra is offering a training opportunity of this sort, and it is only open to women over the age of 16. There is only room for ten students so if you are interested you had better move fast.

Kyra is of course, a multiple time world champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and well, Kyra Gracie. We expect some of the female members of the Mighty 600,000 to attend this camp and bring back a full report!

Kyra has asked that anyone who would like to make arrangements to attend her training camp simply contact her at graciekyra@gmail.com. To confirm I’m not just making this stuff up, check out Kyra’s site.

I As the father of a young daughter who is just beginning her journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I am excited to hear of another all womens BJJ camp. Even though she is still very young, only 12 years old, she has struggled with many of the problems I have heard discussed by the top notch women competitiors we have listened to on the fightworks Podcast. (problems such as being the only girl at our school, and many of the boys refusing to roll with her for one ridiculous reason or another, mostly because their ego has been bruised by being tapped by a girl). There have been many stories she and I find on the Fightworks Podcast to not only entertain, but to inspire us as well. The stories you have produced on women in Bjj have helped motivate her to not get discouraged and deepen her desire to keep training when it isn’t always easy being the only girl on the mat. I thought you would like to know that there is a future generation of the mighty 600,000 that has begun to listen to the show. Keep up the great work!!
