Last weekend in London the largest Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament of the UK took place with a record-setting 500 competitors. In a missive from the tourney organizer, The European Fight Network, we learn that over 200 white belts and 150 blue belts competed, with entrants from the UK and “Hungary, Greece, Poland, Italy, Sparta and even one competitor from Australia”.
Roger Gracie’s team appears to have lived up to the high expectations of Roger, as it’s reported that his brown belt student Nick Gregoriades and his purple belt student (and cousin) Luciano Cristovam put on very notable performances and both won their divisions.
In elite women’s action, ADCC World Championship competitors Rachel Wheatley and ADCC Germany Winner Carmen Jahnke battled, with Wheatley submitting Jahnke by triangle choke for the win.
