The International Fight League has announced that it will be giving special attention to the members or the United States Armed Forces leading up to this upcoming Armed Forces Day, traditionally held every third Saturday of every May.

On May 14th IFL Razorbacks coach Frank Shamrock and Silverbacks welterweight fighter Rory Markham will attend the USO-sponsored “No Dough Dinner” at USO Great Lakes. After dinner the two will remain on hand to mingle and watch that night’s episode of IFL Battleground on MyNetworkTV.

On Thursday, May 17, those present at the Great Lakes Base will have an opportunity to take part in a self defense seminar offered by IFL coaches and athletes, as well as get autographs. The seminar, to be held at the Freedom Recruit Training Site of the Great Lakes Base, will start at 6 p.m..

The May 19th IFL event in Chicago will feature matches between the Chicago Red Bears versus the Quad Cities Silverbacks, and the SoCal Condors against the San Jose Razorclaws. Those presenting military ID will have access to discount tickets. No word yet from the IFL on who will be stepping in for the recently departed IFL Condor team member Jeremy Williams in the event.
